Nancy Winner

The final two came down to Jodie and Jessie and Jodie Prenger was announced as Nancy in the grand final of I’d Do Anything last weekend. Jodie, who currently works as an agony aunt appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning with Bill Turnbull and Sian Williams to talk about the show. She stated that she doesn’t yet know which performances she will be appearing in but we can reveal that Sickness and holiday permitting, Jodie is scheduled to perform on Monday and Tuesday evenings, Wednesday matinees and Friday evenings and both Saturday Shows. Until the show opens in December, the Producers cannot make a final decision on any additonal performances. Due to licensing issues, it will not be decided which Oliver will perform until shortly before the performance starts.

Jodie is a keen Salsa dancer and was almost the Pontins disco champion. She lost out to a girl who did the splits. You may have seen Jodie on TV before in the ‘The Biggest Loser’ which she won after losing a staggering 8 stone.

Jodie went to drama college but the college had to close meaning she couldn’t finish the course.

Previous singing experience includes singing on a Disney cruise ship and on the cabaret circuit in Blackpool.

Second placed Jessie Buckley is from County Kerry in Ireland. She starred in a school production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat when she was 7 years old.

Jessie has had vocal training and acting masterclasses – her mum gives her singing lessons.

She was a member of AIMS (Association of Irish Musical Societies) Youth Summer School from 2005-2007.

She plays four instruments and is part of the Tipperary Millennium Orchestra.

Did the right Nancy win?

Both Jodie and Jessie are very good and i’m sure either of them would make a great Nancy but do you agree with the public that voted? I can see a certain attitude in Jodie’s performances which is very ‘Nancy-like’ but for me Jessie just edged ahead. I can’t quite put my finger on why, she just has that extra little je ne sais quoi.
