Never Forget, the musical featuring the songs of Take That will no longer be moving to the Lyric theatre when it’s run at the Savoy finishes on the 15th November. The audience favourite of the 2008 season which opened to critical and public acclaim in London on 7 May was scheduled to move to the Lyric Theatre for Christmas but will now embark on a UK tour in 2009 instead.
Explaining the decision the shows producers said
“The show was going to have to be substantially re-conceived for the smaller Lyric Theatre, however, after discussions with the theatre, the unions, our cast and creative team, the decision has been made to protect the integrity of the production in its current format – which has been proven to work time and time again, astounding and thrilling audiences every single night. The show will now be going out on a major UK tour, whilst new productions will open in several territories around the world next year.”
The producers are confident the show will return to London adding
“There is no doubt that it will be back in the West End in the not too distant future.”
However, without any date of when Never Forget will return to London the announcement is likely to cause the remaining tickets to sell out fast as people try to make sure they see the show before the current run ends.
