Booking restaurants made easier
We have updated our restaurants page to make it easier to book restaurants online.
We were aware that our search function didn’t make it very easy to narrow down your search for a restaurant to an area more specific than a town. Working with Livebookings, who run the booking facility for both us and at the restaurant side, we have now implemented a much easier and more targeted search form.
The new restaurants page not only enables the user to narrow down their search to a more targeted location but also has the option of specifying whether you are looking for a table for breakfast, lunch or dinner and/or cuisine type right from the initial search. This eliminates the possibility of displaying the results for the user only to find that the time period they are looking for is not available on the required date.
You could search for cuisine types before via the advanced search but we feel it is much more user friendly to offer this search option on the main restaurants page as we have done in this new version.
As well as making it easier to find restaurants that meet your criteria in the UK the new search form also enables users to book restaurants overseas. Although Local Nights Out is primarily aimed at the UK market we felt that as Livebookings have overseas restaurants within their network we might as well include them on the site. A lot of our existing users will no doubt go abroad whether on holiday or on business and by including the overseas restaurants on the site it just makes it easier for people to organise their trips.
