London Clubs
Not only do the city’s clubs have a great mix of music, but on occasion play host to some of the world’s best (and hottest new) DJs. With the resurgence of hip-hop and a whole host of new ‘retro’ venues, it’s also ever changing, as clubs open with regular frequency. Not surprising then that even the most loyal of club folk have to search through the listings just to keep up with what’s going on. For those expecting to be in town for just one night or for a week of partying, London’s club scene is, without doubt, the most vibrant and diverse in Europe.
Every night you’ll find a fantastic variety of music to dance the night away to, from funky 70s beats to thumping drum n bass and jazzy Latin sounds. Whatever your musical tastes, be it trance, garage, techno, indie, R’n'B or good old fashioned 70s/80s nostalgia, it’s easy to find a venue in which serious fun can be had using Local Nights Out in the London clubs category. Depending on what you want from your night out, you can find sophistication and disco in Mayfair, Chelsea, Kensington and Knightsbridge, alongside parts of the West End, but you will also find the expensive drinks to go with it! Not only do you need smart and chic attire, but a smart and chic bank balance to go with it! In reality, London’s nightlife starts in the West End and ends near the M25.
London is well known for having some of the most exclusive nightclubs in the world. With all of the rich and famous coming to London and hitting the club scene, it makes London the best location for that night out. The nightlife in London is generally scattered around the town, however there are 2 main areas where most of the top London clubs are located – the West End and Chelsea. The dilemma you could face before setting out on your night is which club to head to, the explosive club and dance scene caters for every taste and persuasion. Dress code at all London venues can vary depending on individual policy so check before you leave.
London also rivals the best Salsa venues in the world. There are hundreds of venues, clubs and lessons so many that they have their own magazine, Salsaworld, which you can pick up at venues such as Salsa at 96, Charing Cross Road – many of the London clubs cluster round this part of town, but they also spread across the city. There are at least 10 major clubs a night. It’s not a thing to just go and do from scratch as the standard is often quite high – especially in the suburbs like Brixton where salsa parties go on till dawn. However if you sign up for a lesson you can usually go on to the club associated with it for free afterwards.
